A hybrid broker and research lab.

Bramcott sits on both sides of the GPU market: it brokers capacity for clients who need it, and it runs the research that makes those placements defensible.

What hybrid means here

A broker who cannot measure the asset is a middleman. A lab that never transacts produces papers. Bramcott does both on purpose: the brokerage side sees real fleet configurations, real commitment terms and real interrupt behaviour; the research side turns that exposure into standards, tooling and quotations that hold up under procurement scrutiny.

Everything the lab publishes is open by default. Standards, validators and test suites live in public repositories so a client can read the method before paying for the conclusion.

Open standards

Two standards the lab maintains, each with its specification, schemas and executable checks in the open.

  1. ASDAI Format

    Python · working draft 0.1.0

    Wire format asdaif/0.1

An open-standard proposal for how humans and AI systems express technical work, preserve evidence, and keep shared context current. Requirements retain their conditions and exceptions; derived knowledge points to exact source revisions; when a source changes, dependent context becomes ineligible until revalidated.

Proposed standard · no institutional adoption yet

  2. Screen Obsolescence Score (SOS-1.0)

    Python · v1.0.0

    Schema sos-evaluation/1.0

A standard and testing suite for measuring how much human screen operation a computer-coupled workflow still requires. Scores run on an unbounded [0, ∞) domain: eliminating the human screen loop is a first threshold, not a ceiling, and the suite scores ideation, value accrual and downstream development against that baseline.

    Standard ID SOS-STD-1.0

Upstream work

The lab contributes to the tools it depends on, in the open, under its own name.

  1. Ghostty terminal

    Fork pressatojump/ghostty

    Upstream PR #14542

Bramcott maintains a fork of the Ghostty terminal emulator and has contributed upstream, including pull request #14542, “renderer: always release shaders”. Ghostty is a third-party project; it is referenced here by name only, and its mark is not reproduced.

  2. Experimental particle physics

    Background statement

    Not an affiliation

Members of the research lab have prior experimental particle-physics research experience, including work conducted at Fermilab. That background shapes the lab's habits: calibrated uncertainty, analysis pipelines that survive audit, and results that are reproducible from raw input.

From the lab to your fleet

The same standards that govern the lab's public work govern its commissioned quotations: stated inputs, stated confidence, and figures that tie out. Sample quotations are published so the method can be judged before it is bought.
